Today's selection brought back a lot of memories . I know of a beet sugar ,White Satin, plant that has been here since I was a kid. I recalled the soap box derby that was sponsored by Alpinerose dairy. And then then gravel quarry across from my high school was no longer in production. In 1973 it became a sanitary landfill. Being in a city there was opposition but they only took yard debris and construction waste. There was never a problem with rats or smells . It was a time when we all became very aware of waste and environmental pollution. Our city ran out of safe places to to put garbage nearby It is now is barged up river to a semi desert to fill up a valley.

I feel this so deeply as a recovering opiate addict. This campaign showed more understanding and empathy than any of the scare campaigns on TV today

watching this makes me suddenly feel old. we had IH 504, 706, JD 4430 and a Ford 4500 doing dairy here in Maine. the 1970s were good, but everything tanked in the 1980s. you can still drive around here today and see a lot of caved in dairy barn, crumbling silos and grown-in fields.

This is one Hell of a weirdly bizarre film.

The influence of doomerist Paul Erlich is prominent in this one. Granted there were environmental issues that needed addressing in 1970 - esp. controls on pollution, but much of the motivation for this movement was to implement the Club of Rome-type goals to control (read: enslave) the population. The World Economic Forum, who's goals are congruent, was formed three years after this propaganda was created.

So, this movie is blaming Charlie Schilling for being nagged into driving a defective school bus. I'm all for buses working properly, and bus drives being careful with kids, but something just doesn't seem right about this.

“Lake Michigan will be dead in 9 years” This was made in 1970, almost 55 years ago. And not only Lake Michigan, but the Great Lakes as a whole is thriving. I wonder if in 55 years from now the inhabitants of Earth will look at all the climate change nonsense going on now and see just how much the so called “educated” were wrong about their predictions.

The Big Lie: "The 2020 Election was stolen" is an example . No evidence but it is still believed because it has been repeated 100s of times.

This has cinematography by the legendary Vilmos Zsigmond, when he was still being called William, is NOT listed on IMDB, this is likely from the late 1960s/early 1970s.

The Miracle Metal intro music, so dramatic and a little scary, reminds me of the soundtrack from "Creature From the Black Lagoon". Love it!

this is the soundtrack to the last 13 mins of my life.

Simply charming. Really neat to see independent projects from so long ago. I wanted to narrow down the time it was likely made. The detective seems to be played by New Jersey artist and sculptor Charles Blaze Vukovich, born in 1918 and later buried in Bergen County, NJ. Unfortunately I'm bad with telling people's ages, so I'm stuck at the first half of the forties, maybe even right after the war.

One very "funny" abaut this 1950's and 60's documentaries abaut drugs, alcohol or any other subject,are all full of smoke from the cigarrets that almost everyone involved on those "delicate" subjects are constantly smoking...chain-smoking to be more accurate.
